Conquering Fears

The time had come for our long-awaited trip.  I had spent the weekend and early part of the week packing and getting our house ready to be empty.  We got up around 3:45 am on Wednesday morning June 1, 2011 to head to the Gulfport airport.  The morning was pretty uneventful.  Maw Maw was a little nervous, but after a biscuit and some coffee, she was ready to go.

Early breakfast
Boarding the plane!

Still relaxed before take-off

Our first flight was also pretty uneventful, and surprisingly we landed on time at the Logan airport in Boston.  We made the first of many tee tee stops (those Touchstones have very small bladders), and made it to baggage claim.  While Paw Paw helped us get our luggage off the turnstile, Brad found out the bus information from the helpful and knowledgeable lady at the "information" desk.
Strong Paw Paw :)

We loaded up on the bus and made the 2 hour ride to our ferry stop with only one bump in the road.  Brad and I left his cell phone on the seat of the bus, and we couldn't get it back.  Brad was very stressed for a little amount of time, and then realized this must have been a God thing since he was in the middle of a small catastrophe at work and his first campaign!  No one could get in touch with him, so he had no idea what was going on here and was forced to finally RELAX!!!

We could sit spread out at first, but man that bus sure did fill up fast!

We made it to the ferry dock finally, began to wind down from all the excitement of the day.  Maw Maw did awesome on her first time flying!  We couldn't have asked for better travel mates.  When we got on the island, we were famished and decided to eat at the Tavern.  We all ate some Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque before heading to the room, where we all collapsed from the exhaustion of traveling all day.

Hy-Line Ferry dock.  We had to walk a few blocks to get here after taking the wrong shuttle, and Brad had to drag his pitiful suitcase with the blown-out tire the whole way.  Not to mention this was all the same time as realizing we lost his phone!  Quite a stressful moment, but that's all it lasted was just a moment.

The first place we ate :)
